A cold night on the Long Mynd
I parked at Pole Cottage and set off across the Long Mynd. The ground was flat and not boggy despite the rain. The views were huge, with rolling hills in every direction. I dropped down towards Cross Dyke, where I got some shots of wild ponies, including the sound of them chewing grass.
I continued south of Grindle, up to Callow Hill, where I set up camp. The view I wanted was over Church Stretton, capturing Caer Caradoc, the Lawley, and the Wrekin. It was cold, but I was ready with down booties and a warm setup.
After some timelapse shots, I settled in for the night with Pot Noodles and steak. Slept through the night, despite the ponies licking my tent. Woke up at 5 a.m. to a cloudy sunrise and spent the morning drinking coffee and taking in the view.
This was my first time filming a wild camp on the Long Mynd, and it didn’t disappoint.
